Keywords
The achievements of Salma Awan in travelogue are known to every student of Literature. She is the first artist. Who initiated literary compositions in the Northern Areas? She highlighted the history and the civilization of Northern area. She also expressed her personal life and narrated the events in a moving way; she success fully exploited the flash back technique in her compositions. That's why; her travelogues have the qualities of a novel, drama and film. Consequently, the reader learns about the external conditions of the atmosphere and the mental state of the character. "Ya Mera Baltistan", "Ya Mera Gilgit Hunza" and "Sunder Chitral" are the rare manuscripts of Flash back technique in Urdu Literature.
