Literature, if seen in a wider perspective, has been called “criticism of life”. A writer gets raw material and motivation from his environment and then moulds this raw material into a piece of art through his artistic skills. In this piece of art,some aspect of life is represented. So, literature becomes mirror to life.It is impossible to creat a great piece of art when someone is oblivious to social issues. A true writer refelcts the contemporary society even when he is writing about himself. If doesn’t fulfil the responsibility of truly reflecting life, he will never be immortal writer.
