Abstract
"Qasida" is a famous genre of Urdu classical poetry. Besides other poetic characteristics like simile, metaphor, exaggeration, etc: one can find so many examples of imagery in Urdu "Qasida" .
Mirza Muhammad Rafi Sauda , Sheikh Muhammad Ibrahim Zauq, Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib and many other Urdu poets have written verses in which they have potrayed natural scenes, incidents and human emotions and sentiment through imagery. There are five tribes of imagery i.e. visual , auditory, kinesthetic, olfactory and gustatory. Example of these all types of imagery are found in Urdu "Qasida".
In this article the use of imagery in Urdu "Qasida" has been discussed and analyzed
