Urdu criticism has been greatly influenced by different knowledge and Arts in the twentieth century. Among all these Linguistics has gained the most prominent position. New Criticism in Urdu is paying more attention to Linguistics in aspects of analyzing; investigating and studying Urdu literature. As a result Stylistics and stylistic Criticism have been successful in setting a distinctive position in all the other fields. As Stylistics functions as a bridge between language and literature and addresses directly literary criticism, Urdu literature has started to represent an objective and fact based descriptive approach rather than subjective approach therefore the whole credit of this change in understanding Urdu literature is achieved by Stylistics Criticism.
