Abstract

This article includes the detailed introduction and review of two rare Urdu books published in the nineteenth century. One book "Mirat ul Khial" by Mirza Sultan Ahmad is on Psychology. This book came out in 1882 and is considered as one of the earliest Urdu books on this subject. The second book "Lal Chandardka" is the combined translation of two Sanskrit books. It was published in 1886. So far, the only one copy of each book is found, and both are in the severe existential crises. It's time to expand the boundaries of Urdu research in order to establish that it has a strong tradition of academic prose. The object of this article is to bring the attention to this real asset of Urdu prose so that we may take steps to preserve this treasure of knowledge. Otherwise, we'll lose this and it would be an immense loss.
