Abstract

The letters written by Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib to his different friends not only reflect his personal and social life but also the bearer of the initial traits of the modern Urdu prose. Various Urdu critics like modern Urdu prose have explored merits of Ghalib's letters. In this article, the opinions of these experts have been critically analyzed in such a manner that the artistic properties of these letters have been brought forward quite obviously.
