Urdu literary genres have always been in the process of evolution; specifically,evolution has (literally) had redifined itself with respect to the literary need of its era. Urdu Ghazal, likely, has been in a state of flux when it comes to the style. The last decades, wherein Hali used to be the aura of modern Urdu Ghazal, saw drastic havoc in the stylistic decorum which further got stimulated by Zafar Iqbal who revitalized all canons of style in contemprary Urdu Ghazal. This article deals in deep analyzing the style of Ghazal apparent in the epoch of Hali till the epoch of Zafar Iqbal.
