Abstract

Anees Nagi is a well known critic and writer. "Mira Ji ek Bhatka howa Shair" is his renowned book. This book comprises his personal feelings. He tries to approach Mira Ji's personality through his poetry. In his view, original domain of Mira Ji is "Azad Nazm" He believes that Mira Ji's personality possesses dual aspects i.e real one and physical one and both remained contradictory to cach other. On one hand he influenced by western poetry and on the other hand he followed ancient Hindi style of poetry Mira Ji has done this consciously after thinking a lot. He seems to rearrange urdu poetic diction in his Azad Nazm. Both Technically and linguistically, Mira Ji has done a great job. Followers of progressivism tried their best to prove him as a vague poet. Despite of this lack of explanation in his emotional life also produced vagueness in his poetry. Despite of all these hurdles, Mira Ji is succeeded in establishing new poetic style. He considered Sex as a vital emotion. He describes woman body and his wishes in this regard, in order to avoid emotional prevalence. His unhappiness, inner restlessness and remoteness from religion and ethics is mainly due to his feeling of loneliness. Despite this he was a well-read and fore bearing poet. He was seeing the dream of thriving modern poetry and of formulating "Azad Nazm"
