Abstract
Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi, enacted and executed an imperative and far-reaching role in the evolution, development and expansion of Urdu fiction. It remains a hallmark of his fiction to highlight the important issues of Rural and Urban centuries, more effectively through creative writings. As an authentic and persuasive fiction writer, he has all commands over the psyche of his characters, that’s why a realistic social picture forcing to think alike is being perceived through the eyes of the his readers. “Paon Ka Kanta” is one of the representative stories of such kind, in which the psychology of a step-mother is being unfolded in its different facets and features. This piece of fiction writing explains the psychological reasoning behind the cruelty elements of the main character in story
