Abstract
اA realistic artist cannot stay away from the thoughts and problems of his time. Prem chand was also aware of the problems scattered in his surroundings.
Bazar e Husan is the first novel in which Premchand shows the social evils in their wider socio-moral and economic background. Emphasis has also been placed on its psychological aspects. And then have tried to find their solution in the light of their observation and study.In this novel Nirmla , the two evils of the society are explained. One is the curse of dowry and the other is uncoordinated marriage. Many houses are destroyed due to these outdated customs and practices. Young and innocent girls are sacrificed. The character of Nirmala is the spokesperson of countless girls of Hindustan. who fall prey to the outdated customs of Hindu society. In Indian society, the birth of a girl child is considered a hardship rather than a blessing. Which is a strong criticism of Hindu society. Through Nirmala, the author has touched the most important problem of India, which was a great need of the society at that time. This problem has not ended even today. Due to dowry, many girls in the subcontinent are deprived of the pure bond of marriage.
As a realist artist, he paints this life in a free manner, telling the story of the destruction of Lakhanpur in the story of "Nirmala" and "Goshya Aafit", the bitterness of his feelings and the yearning of his heart are reflected in his tone.
