Urdu dastan is one of the most important genres of urdu

fiction. These dastans not only provided Urdu prose new

possibilities to expand, but also to be a source of

delivery besides keeping the diversity of history and

civilization. Most of Urdu dastans have Hindi

background. The samples of ancient Hindi society and

civilization can easily be found in these Urdu dastans

translated from Sanskrit. The study of these dastans is

auspicious with the authenticity and cultural scenario of

ancient Hindustani civilization. In this article effort has

been made to explore and analyze such Urdu dastans

which have Hindustani background.
