Shahnawaz Zaidi is a renowned artist, Shahnawaz Zaidi . He was born in 1948 and served in University College of Art and Design, Punjab University for 29 Years. Due to his major contributions to art, Shahnawaz Zaidi was awarded “Tamgha e Imtiaz” and “Tamgha Husn-e-Karkardagi ” from the Government of Pakistan. His book “ Geetanjli” got published in 2005 which is the translation of a book, “ Geetanjli” written by a Bengoli poet whose name is Rabindar Nath Tigor. This book is a collection of songs and poems sung in the praise of God. With the best selection of words and tone for the translation of Geetanjli, Shahnawaz has done a tremendous job in portraying the feelings and sentiments of Tigore.
