Abstract

KHADIJA MASTOOR is one of the famous amongst the female

novelists. She keeps prominent and special position as a

novelist. In this novel “Aangan”, it seems that social crises are

the result of landlordism. Novel begins from last era of freedom

movement, when at one hand freedom movement is at its climax

and on the other hand 2nd world war has destroyed the social

and economic system of society. The novel ends at the age when

India gets freedom and country divides. Establishment of

Pakistan created hustling among Muslim society and it reflects in

their psychotic’s reaction. Khadija Mastoor has perfectly defined

it in realistic way. In this novel the political knowledge of Khadia

Mastoor is inspiring.
