Changing perspectives of Heroines in Urdu Novel in Social background

Abstract

A novel is a genre of literature that is directly related to life. It reflects the social problems, values, traditions and customs. If we study the novels written from the beginning till 1947, the changing forms of the heroine come before is in this journey of the novels. In the beginning she is a figure of shame and modesty, her beauty and elegance are her jewels. Reformed novels were written keeping in view the educational needs of the time. The heroine of the novels was a role model for social women. Then with time changes took place in the society according to the needs. Then time came when the novel collect topics from the society, means and now social women were providing to be the role models for the heroine of the novel. That is, in the heroine of the novel, she is directly influenced by the society. Her impression is important in the society. Her style shows a new path for social women.

Therefore, the influence of society and the influence of novel in society can be easily seen in the novels written since the establishment of Pakistan. And now at this era when society needs, literature supports it, so literature takes topics from society.
